Abbey Bominable Bed:
For Brooklyne's Doll House

You will need:

A School Ruler
Foam Core Board
A Pen or Pencil
Hot Glue
Fabric to Cover
1/2" Foam
Scrapbooking Paper of Choice
Scrapbooking Cut outs
An Exacto Knife or cutting Utensil

Step 1

So I just made this 12" long by 4" wide, and created a footboard and baseboards for the whole surround
This is a smaller scale of the Abbey Bominable Bed By Chad Alan
Glue them together

Step 2

I picked a Crushed Panne because its 60" wide and you can usually find it for cheap
I only needed 1/4 of a yard of this fabric
I started on the back gluing the fabric to the board one part at a time making sure the front part was clean
Well worry about the left over on the sides further on.
I made sure to leave enough to fold under the bottom and glue

Step 3

I have this fun glitter scrapbooking paper left over from lining the walls of my Abbey Bominable bedroom in my nieces Monster High Doll house.
I cut out 2 shapes smaller than the 3d headboard and then hot glued them into place to add some glitter

Step 4

I then cut strips 1" (the width of the ruler) by 12" and covered the bottom of the bed to create a glittery bedskirt

I did this on 3 of the sides.
Side note, this also is used to cover any imperfections along the bottom.

Step 5

Laying the headboard down on the scrapbooking paper I trace it to cover the small bits I didn't want anyone to see on the back.  I cut it just a little smaller so you could still see some of the crushed panne.

Step 6

I also had some left over snowflake scrapbooking paper from the closet I made
I cut around the snowflakes and added a couple to the headboard as accents

Step 7

Now for the mattress
I had this foam laying around the house but if you don't then I would recommend a 1/2" wide foam
and I would probably buy the green upholstery foam because its easier to work with.
I used another base of the bed as a guide to cut this out
and then I laid it on top of my crushed panne and cut around it.
I cut out small squares at the corner to account for the overlap.
Start gluing your fabric directly to the bottom of your foam.

This is what the mattress will look like when you're done covering it.

Step 8

Now it's time to glue the mattress to the bed.
I started at the headboard and then worked my way down to the footboard

Step 9

Now I wanted to add a little more Christmas to this bed so I went to the Dollar Tree and found some Mardi Gras beads in the party supplies.  There were several different colors for $1.
Since Abbey's colors are blues, whites, purples, and pinks I chose to use the pink strand.
I started by cutting it at the seam and gluing to one side of the headboard and then worked my way over

Then after looking at it, I decided to do the same on the footboard to hide some of the little imperfections

Now your bed is officially done.
Bedding for this bed will follow please check back with me!
